The Executive Yuan in Taipei plans to launch the Sports Ministry by August next year, focusing on sports administration and industry development. Legislative approval is needed.

Taiwan People’s Party (TPP) presidential candidate Ko Wen-je vows to promote international sports events, including the 2038 Asian Games and the Olympics, if elected.
